The law firm of Joyce, McFarland & McFarland decided to locate their offices in the historic Art Deco Chase Tower in the heart of downtown Houston. The significant project challenge was to work with the established early twentieth century building structure for a client who expressed interest in having as high a ceiling height as was possible. By removing all non-essential lower ceiling planes, and installing low-profile direct/indirect lighting, an illusion of height within the office was created. Glass doors and glazed partitions present viewing continuity and seem to enlarge the space.
