The RO Parcel 2 is the first building in a master planned urban infill development adjacent to the River Oaks district in Houston Texas. The 6-story office grounds the high-density development by providing 127,269 sf of workplace for an energy trading company corporate headquarters. The building complements the traditional architectural context of the area with sensitive use of scale, material selections, and landscape. Exterior masonry walls with light gray brick and the use of wood brise soleil produce a pedestrian-scale texture and warmth for the facade. Extensive planting on the street level and on an elevated private terrace provide a natural respite for the employees and visitors. Programming for the client-based headquarters includes the ground floor main lobby and 4,200 sf retail with 820 parking stalls on the floors above. The Level 5 trading floor is sized for 500 traders with conferencing at Level 5 mezzanine. Employee amenities are located on Level 6 including a full-service cafeteria, training rooms, fitness facility and exterior amenity deck with multipurpose sport court, putting green, walking path, and outdoor dining areas.
The project will seek LEED Silver certification by the USGBC.
