This corporate headquarters tower incorporates many features aimed to serve the end user. With a generous lobby space, 10’ office floor ceilings, underfloor air, and amenities such as on-site coffee bar, café, conference center, and locker rooms, the design is focused on creating both a dynamic and pleasing
work place.
The building users will have access to private balconies, roof gardens, as well as an exterior courtyard consisting of gathering spaces with a water feature. Careful consideration was given to the acoustic design of the building, located not far from a busy freeway intersection, to allow for views while maintaining acoustic separation with its surroundings through modified glass units and exterior acoustical screens. Floor to ceiling glass will open views east toward downtown, South to the nearby City Centre, and west to the Energy Corridor.
Subtle variations in the design of the curtainwall help to break up the massing and make the building appear more slender in profile. The tower is topped off by a crown, which shields site-lines to the rooftop cooling towers and building maintenance elements while also acting as an illuminated beacon at the top of the tower after dark.
The project will seek LEED Gold certification by the USGBC.
