Within the ground floor of the Musuem of Fine Art, Houston’s Caroline Wiess Law Building, this series of galleries creates a seamless expansion to the historic Mies van der Rohe exhibition spaces. Incorporating materials similar to the surrounding spaces, the series of rooms progresses to tell the story of the Islamic Worlds, highlighting a collection hundreds of objects spanning more than 1,000 years which reflect the breadth of historic Islamic lands. This suite of galleries includes six distinct rooms each exhibiting curated textiles, metalwork, paintings, manuscripts, ceramics, and carpets stretching from Morocco to India and spanning the trade routes in between.
Kendall/Heaton Associates performed full services on this project, including design through construction administration.
