description
Housed in the Lower Level of the Audrey Jones Beck Building (Jose Rafael Moneo Architect and Kendall/Heaton Associates, Inc, 2000) this highly visible and inviting interior space provides visitors access to the Musuem’s 200,000 books, periodicals, auction catalogs, artist’s books, vertical files and special collection material dating back to the 15th century. The new spaces include a main reading room lined with bespoke illuminated bookshelves, as well as a rare book reading room, digitization lab, reference and rare book housing, staff and visiting scholars offices, and exhibition cases. Kendall/Heaton Associates performed full design through construction administration services on this highly detailed project.
