Kendall/Heaton served as Architect of Record for the interior build out of this headquarters for a major real estate company. The headquarters is located on 6 floors of Texas Tower in downtown Houston. Kendall/Heaton also served as Architect of Record for the core & shell building, working with Pelli Clarke & Partners, the design architect.
Hines’ headquarters serves as a model for the future of workplace. Key features of the design are the adaptable and community-oriented spaces dispersed across six floors, all connected by a gracious open communicating stair that makes amenity spaces easily accessible to all employees. Amenities include a 94-seat café, roof terraces, a library, and training spaces.
The project incorporates demountable partitions and a raised access flooring system that maximize flexibility in space planning. The client’s goals called for a special focus on sustainability and employee wellness. To help meet those goals, the project pursued and achieved LEED and WELL Platinum certification, and incorporated biophilic design, access to exterior views, circadian rhythm lighting, and individual temperature control in the raised access floor in the design of the spaces.
The project achieved LEED Platinum certification by the USGBC.
The project achieved Well Platinum certification IWBI.
